Portland Oregon Early Modern Studies (P.O.E.M.S.) is a community of scholars living in the U. S. Pacific Northwest who study early modern culture. P.O.E.M.S. focuses on research in English literature, but we welcome participants who work in other languages as well as art, music, history, folklore, etc., etc., etc. And don't let the handy acronym fool you: though it may be easier to participate in face-to-face activities if you live close to Portland, feel free to join if you come from farther afield.
